THE STORY!
The main theme of the story is how winter is cold and summer is warm! Winter is cold because well why dont you just read and learn!!!! So it all started when a little girl named Persephone was just doing her normal thing picking flowers for her mother. So, one day she saw this particular flower that stood out but it was far away so she wasn't suppost to leave her mothers side. But this must have been one really pretty flower becuase she sneaked away and when she got there she leaned down to smell it and right when she was picking it Hades ,god of the underworld, popped up and grabbed her and took her back with him to the underworld. But how did Hades know about Persephone?
Well, Hades can see her everyday looking and picking flowers so, Hades just happens to see her. So then, Demeter ,Persephones mother, was wondering where Persephone her beautiful daughter had wondered off to. (So here is a fact: What is Demeter the goddess of... Demeter is the goddess of... The harvest!) So anyways, Demeter got so worried and since Demeter is the goddess of the harvest, the weather was turning cold and the harvest wasn't alive and pretty. So, she decided to go an d ask Zeus if he had seen Persephone. Zeus had responded and had said, "Yes! She is down in the underworld with Hades she is his new wife!" Demeter although wasn't happy about any of this so she demanded that Zeus send the messenger god to go fetch Persephone and bring her back up to the mortal world.
So, Zeus does what Demeter had asked and Persephone was back with her mother on Mt. Olympous! But, Hades demanded that since she was his wife he come back down to the underworld with him. So, they had to make an agreement so hades said i get her for 6 months while you get her for the other 6 months. So, if you looked at the home page where it had posted stuff about Persephone and the 6 pomegranet seeds. Can any body guess what they were for... they were what Persephone, had to eat and she only had 6 one a month. So, Can u guess why Winter is cold and Summer is warm... to find the answer reffer to the text below...!
Well winter is cold because... when Demeter is sad she doesn't really follow all of her duties so it affects the crops and weather she is sad becasue Persephone is gone...
Welll summer is warm because... when Demeter is happy seh does follow up on all of her duties so that means that the crops and weather are pretty and growing and warm weather..
This is why Summer is warm... AND ... Winter is cold!!!!
